Steven M. Barth

Steven M. Barth is a trial attorney who has successfully litigated numerous cases involving catastrophic and severe injury throughout the entire state of Pennsylvania. During his career, he has assisted a multitude of clients and their families in trying to put their lives back together after a tragedy has struck. Steve is a natural listener who empowers his clients to share their stories with him so he can fight for full justice for them.

His practice areas include truck crashes, dramshop/ liquor liability, drunk-driver negligence, product liability, civil rights, highway design, bad-faith insurance cases and personal injury.

Steve Barth was born in Toledo, Ohio, where he spent his entire childhood. He went to St. John’s Jesuit High School. After that, he attended Ohio University where he majored in history and played club lacrosse before graduating with honors (cum laude). Steve then moved to Pittsburgh. In 2002, he earned his law degree, also known as a juris doctorate, from Duquesne University School of Law.

In 2009, Steve was selected to attend the Trial Lawyers College in Dubois, Wyoming. Since its inception in 1994, the Trial Lawyers College has trained approximately 850 attorneys from across the nation. This privilege gave Steve the opportunity to learn from some of the best attorneys in the country such as Gerry Spence, Rich Friedman, and others. In addition to having an active litigation practice, he previously served on the Board of Governors for the Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association and the Pennsylvania Association of Justice. He remains a proud and active member of both organizations.

Steve is also a member of the Academy of Truck Accident Attorneys. The Academy is an organization for attorneys committed to handling truck-crash cases and to making a difference by fighting unsafe highway practices that lead to these devastating events.

The Academy of Trial Lawyers Active Membership is limited to Allegheny County lawyers who are actively engaged in civil trial practice from both the plaintiff’s and defendant’s side of counsel table in either state and/or federal courts. Members of the Academy represent the most exceptional civil trial lawyers in Allegheny County.

Steve is also a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which recognizes attorneys who have resolved cases for a sum of million dollars or more.
